Spirulina (Arthrospira platensis) is a blue-green micro-algae found in freshwater. It is very rich in protein (over 60%), essential micronutrients (magnesium, vitamins A and K) and antioxidants (beta-carotene, phycocyanine, selenium). It's almost like a multi-vitamin on its own! It is one of the foods considered to be the richest in the world in terms of composition. In particular, it contains phycocyanin, which is 20 times more powerful than vitamin C!

We chose spirulina for our densitive hair serum because spirulina promotes the synthesis of keratin (95% of which makes up the hair), thanks in particular to the presence of cysteine. Cysteine is a sulphur-containing amino acid that is particularly important for the hair's resistance, strength and elasticity. Spirulina is therefore particularly effective for fine, fragile hair.

We've also chosen spirulina for our Clean Skin Detox Elixir because it makes the skin supple, soft and elastic, while helping to combat premature skin ageing. It also helps to reduce the appearance of pimples, blackheads and microcysts thanks to phycocyanine, which stimulates the immune system and improves the body's reaction to skin inflammation.

However, it is important to pay close attention to its quality and the conditions in which it is grown, as this algae can be more or less rich in nutrients and contain heavy metals. It is rich in chlorophyll, which gives it its pretty green colour and makes it good at eliminating toxins.
