What is argan oil?
Argan oil is a precious vegetable oil extracted from the kernels of the fruit of the argan tree (Argania spinosa), a tree endemic to Morocco. Rich in essential fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamin E and polyphenols, it is renowned for its multiple benefits on the skin, hair and nails. In cosmetics, argan oil is prized for its hydrating, nourishing and anti-aging properties, and it is often called "liquid gold" because of its repairing and revitalizing effects. Used for centuries by local populations, it is today integrated into many skincare products for its ability to provide radiance, suppleness and protection.
Argan oil strengthens, nourishes and protects skin cells, mucous membranes and hair against external aggressions. Rich in antioxidants, it replenishes and restores hair, skin, nails, bones and teeth. Used externally, it stimulates the growth of skin cells and those of the mucous membranes.
In our In & Out treatment [MY] Skin and Hair Essentials, it strengthens, nourishes and protects skin cells, mucous membranes and hair. Argan oil and Vitamin E will act in synergy with the oils of the patented complex on hormonal hair loss to restart the skin's regeneration mechanisms.
Where does argan oil come from?
Argan oil is produced in Morocco, where the argan tree grows naturally in the semi-arid areas of the southwest of the country. The fruits of the argan tree are harvested, then their stones are dried, crushed, and the kernels are pressed to extract the oil. This process can be done traditionally, by hand, or by mechanical methods for larger productions. Cosmetic grade argan oil is generally unroasted to preserve its natural properties, unlike that used in cooking, which has a more pronounced nutty flavor. The production of argan oil supports many women's cooperatives in Morocco, thus contributing to the local economy and the preservation of argan groves.
