What is Sunflower Seed Oil?
Sunflower seed oil is extracted from the seeds of the sunflower plant (Helianthus annuus), a flower native to North America and cultivated throughout the world. Rich in essential fatty acids, vitamin E and antioxidants, sunflower seed oil is highly prized for its moisturizing, nourishing and protective properties. Thanks to its light, non-greasy texture, it is widely used in cosmetics to moisturize the skin, repair hair and protect the skin barrier. Hypoallergenic and suitable for all skin types, including the most sensitive, it is an ingredient of choice in natural care and organic products.
Sunflower seed oil is essentially made up of linoleic acid, an essential fatty acid from the omega 6 family which contributes to optimal hydration of the skin as well as vitamin E, an antioxidant.
In our care, it is used as natural antioxidant, due to its vitamin E content, which helps protect it against oxidation and rancidity. The lifespan of our oil is then extended!
In MY Serenity Essentials, sunflower oil plays a role as a binder which promotes the adhesion of the different forms of magnesium and the ingredients to each other, thus facilitating the formation and cohesion of the tablets.
