Linseed oil is a vegetable oil used as a skin care agent.
It has long been used by our ancestors to soothe skin burns and soften mucous membranes and skin. Rich in omega-3s such as alpha-linolenic acid, it has beneficial anti-inflammatory properties.
It’s true that our modern diet is often unbalanced in favour of omega-6s, which are pro-inflammatory. To restore this balance, it is important to provide omega-3s, essential anti-inflammatory fatty acids.
As far as the skin is concerned, the omega-3s present in linseed oil can help nourish the skin and soothe inflammation and irritation. That’s why it’s included in our regenerating oil.
While flaxseed can be considered a phytohormone when ingested, this is not the case when used externally.
