Vitamin B6, also known as pyridoxine, is an essential vitamin that plays a crucial role in many of the body’s functions. It is necessary for the metabolism of proteins, lipids and carbohydrates, as well as for the production of certain enzymes.
This vitamin also contributes to the proper functioning of the nervous system. It is involved in the synthesis of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine, which play a crucial role in regulating mood, sleep and mental well-being. In addition, it acts as a cofactor in the reactions in which magnesium is involved to promote its absorption and use in the body.
Vitamin B6 is also involved in the production of red blood cells and the functioning of the immune system, helping to maintain a healthy immune system.
As well as being an essential cofactor in hormonal balance, vitamin B6 is one of the most widely recognised vitamins for relieving premenstrual problems in women. It is particularly important when taking oral contraceptives, as the pill tends to lower vitamin B6 and B9 levels.
Analysis of nine studies involving 1,000 women suggests good efficacy compared with a placebo… In a more recent trial involving 100 women, those who received vitamin B6 saw an improvement in symptoms such as abdominal bloating, irritability, low mood and anxiety.
These effects could be explained by the role of vitamin B6 in the production of certain neurotransmitters*.

But where do we find it? In many of our foods, such as wholemeal cereals, green leafy vegetables (spinach, kale, broccoli, etc.), bananas, avocados, nuts and lean meats.
The vitamin B6 in our Feel Good Duo is synthetic. We made this choice for reasons of dosage. A natural vitamin B6 would have taken up too much space in our tablets.
